The product is squarely about cutting paperwork and staying audit-ready: direct submission to BCMS, ScotEID and NIFAIS, LIS support stated for the coming cattle rollout, and a tidy barcode scanner that reads the medicine number straight off the bottle. It covers cattle, dairy, beef and sheep, works with the common weigh heads and EID readers, and runs offline. Farmers consistently praise it for fast recording in the field and responsive support; the fair knock in reviews is that it's lighter on the financial and analytics side than some, and it's a records-and-compliance tool rather than a sensor and monitoring platform (and there's no marketplace). Breedr

Breedr comes at livestock from a different angle: performance and trading. It's built around individual-animal data, pairing with Bluetooth weigh scales and EID readers to track daily liveweight gain (its Crush Mode can weigh a cow in around ten seconds), benchmark your stock, and analyse growth and medicine use. Its standout is the Breedr marketplace, where you can sell animals with their full data record attached. It connects to BCMS and ScotEID for compliance, works offline, and covers cattle and sheep.

One thing worth knowing for a UK farm: since launching in the United States in early 2024, Breedr's centre of gravity has tilted toward the US beef supply chain (it works across the UK, US and Australia, a few thousand farms in all). Farmers rate the weighing and EID integration and the free data tools, and the developers have a name for listening. If you're a finisher or a data-driven beef or sheep producer chasing performance and willing to trade on the numbers, Breedr is built for that.
