Cattle in the barn

Pro feature

Your farm. Your rules. Alerts that matter.

Build custom rules with a visual condition builder. When conditions are met, get insights, create tasks and take action automatically.

Visual condition builder

Build rules visually. No code, no spreadsheets, just the conditions you want and the actions to take when they're met.

  • 01

    ALL/ANY logic with nesting

Combine conditions with AND/OR logic. Nest groups for rules that match exactly what you need.

  • 02

    Rich condition types

Temperature, weight, location, activity, age, days since last treatment, days in milk and more. If your sensors measure it, you can build a rule around it.

  • 03

    Automatic actions

When conditions are met, create insights with custom severity, generate tasks or trigger notifications.

What you can build rules for

Six categories cover most of what farms ask for, but you can combine conditions to build anything specific to your operation.

  • 01

    Health rules

Temperature thresholds, activity changes, weight loss detection. Catch problems before they become emergencies.

  • 02

    Reproduction rules

Heat detection from sensor data, calving alerts, breeding reminders.

  • 03

    Compliance rules

Withdrawal period warnings, overdue treatments, missing records. Stay audit-ready.

  • 04

    Performance rules

Growth rate thresholds, milk yield changes, feed conversion alerts. Spot underperformers early.

  • 05

    Location rules

Boundary alerts, grazing time limits, exclusion zone violations.

  • 06

    Custom rules

Combine any conditions for rules unique to your operation. If you can measure it, you can build a rule for it.

Insights, when rules trigger

When a rule fires, an insight appears with severity, context and a direct link to take action. Insights move through active, resolved and archived states automatically.

  • 01

    Severity levels

Low, medium, high and critical. Each insight carries a severity so you know what needs attention first.

  • 02

    Insight templates with variables

Define templates like "{animal_name} has had elevated temperature for {duration}". Insights are specific, not generic.

  • 03

    Auto-task creation

When an insight triggers, tasks are created automatically and assigned to the right person. No manual follow-up.

  • 04

    Status flow

Active → resolved → archived. Track the full lifecycle of every alert, from trigger to resolution.

Common questions

The questions we hear most, answered straight.

What is the visual condition builder and do I need to write any code?

No code or spreadsheets are involved — you build rules visually by choosing the conditions you want and the actions to take when they are met. Combine conditions with AND/OR logic, and nest groups so a rule matches exactly your situation. Condition types include temperature, weight, location, activity, age, days since last treatment and days in milk. If your sensors measure it, you can build a rule around it, then set it to create an insight, generate a task or send a notification.

What kinds of rules can I actually build?

Six categories cover most of what farms ask for, and you can combine conditions for anything specific to your operation. Health rules catch temperature thresholds, activity changes and weight loss early; reproduction rules handle heat detection, calving alerts and breeding reminders; compliance rules flag withdrawal periods, overdue treatments and missing records to stay audit-ready. Performance rules spot underperformers on growth or milk yield, and location rules cover boundary breaches and grazing limits. Custom rules let you combine any conditions for something unique to your herd.

What happens when a rule triggers?

When a rule fires, an insight appears with a severity, context and a direct link to take action. Severity runs from low through medium and high to critical, so you always know what needs attention first. Insight templates use variables, producing specific messages like "{animal_name} has had elevated temperature for {duration}" rather than generic warnings. A task can be created and assigned automatically, with no manual follow-up, and every insight moves through active, resolved and archived states so you can track the full lifecycle from trigger to resolution.

Do I need extra hardware to use rules and insights?

It depends on the rule — anything based on sensor readings needs devices reporting into Agrianta, while rules built on records you already keep, such as overdue treatments or withdrawal periods, work without any extra kit. Agrianta is hardware-agnostic, so boluses, collars, gateways and sensors you already own or choose to buy all feed the builder; nothing is sold or locked to one brand. Whatever your devices measure becomes a condition type you can use straight away.

Is the rules engine included in my plan?

The visual rules engine and insights are a Pro feature, so they sit in the advanced tier rather than the Core day-to-day plan. The one-month free trial gives full Pro access, so you can build and run your own rules from the start and see how they fit your farm before deciding; a card is needed at signup and you can cancel any time during the trial. Every tier also includes unlimited farm team users and unlimited vet seats, so assigning the tasks a rule creates never costs more per person.

Try it on your own herd.

Thirty days, every module on. You won't be charged until your trial ends, and you can cancel anytime.
