Withdrawal periods, automatic

Withdrawal periods start automatically when a treatment is recorded. Every animal gets a live countdown showing exactly when they're clear. No manual calculations, no guesswork.

Each animal shows a clear "safe" or "in withdrawal" status, so you always know which animals are ready for sale or slaughter and which still need time. Alerts notify you as periods approach their end so you can plan ahead.

Full withdrawal history is maintained for every animal, giving you a complete compliance record at audit time.

Common questions

The questions we hear most, answered straight.

What happens when I record a treatment in Agrianta?

Recording one treatment updates four systems at once, so there's no double entry. You select the animals, choose the medicine and record the dose in a single form, and Agrianta creates the medical record, deducts the stock, starts the withdrawal countdown and updates your medicine book together. That keeps your figures right without manual adjustments, and means the records you need at audit time build themselves as you work rather than waiting for a spreadsheet catch-up.

Is the medicine book ready for a VMD inspection?

Yes, Agrianta keeps a VMD-compliant medicine book that's ready for inspection at any time. Every treatment, batch and withdrawal is recorded as you go, with full batch traceability so you can search a batch number and trace it instantly to each animal treated. When an inspector or your vet wants the records, you can export the medicine book as PDF, CSV or JSON rather than digging through paper or rebuilding a log from memory.

How are withdrawal periods worked out?

Withdrawal periods start automatically the moment a treatment is recorded, so there are no manual calculations. Every animal gets a live countdown and a clear safe or in-withdrawal status, telling you exactly which animals are ready for sale or slaughter and which still need time. Alerts warn you as periods approach their end so you can plan movements ahead, and a full withdrawal history is kept for each animal as a complete compliance record.

Will Agrianta tell me before I run out of a medicine?

Yes, set a minimum quantity for any medicine and you'll be notified before stock runs low. Because stock deducts on its own each time you record a treatment, the levels Agrianta works from stay accurate without manual counting, so the low-stock warning reflects what's genuinely on the shelf. That means you can reorder in good time and avoid the situation where an animal needs treating and the medicine isn't there.

Can I get my medicine costs into my accounts?

Yes, you can export stock purchases, usage and valuations straight to Xero, QuickBooks or Sage in CSV or JSON. Medicines are organised by class such as POM-V, POM-VPS and AVM-GSL, and held against storage locations with their own temperature requirements, so the figures you export are tied to real stock rather than rough estimates. That gives your bookkeeper accurate medicine spend and valuations without you re-keying anything by hand.
