Can I see the whole farm's profitability, or only individual animals?
Both. Alongside the per-animal cards, Core includes a farm-level view that adds up total costs, total sale revenue and total profit across the herd, with the average cost and profit per head and a cost-by-category breakdown for the whole farm. A cost snapshot also sits on your farm overview. One thing to be clear about: the farm profit figure counts the animals you have actually sold, so it is money in and out rather than a valuation of stock still in the field, and it covers one farm at a time.
What does Agrianta track for the cost of each animal?
Every animal gets a complete financial card running from purchase or birth to the day it leaves the farm. You record the purchase price and date, then log costs against the animal across feed, medicine, labour, equipment and any custom categories you set up. From that, Agrianta works out the total cost, the cost of gain per kilogram of weight added, and the daily keeping cost. Do I have to enter costs animal by animal?
No, you can record costs against a single animal or a whole batch in one entry. Sale projections are a Pro feature that estimates projected sale dates and profit per animal from each animal's weight-gain trend. It is a planning tool rather than a guarantee, useful for deciding when to sell and what to expect rather than promising an exact figure. Pro also compares profitability by sire, dam and breed, so you can see which bloodlines tend to produce the most profitable animals and put real numbers behind your breeding decisions.
How does this help me spot when an animal is costing too much?
The daily keeping cost and cost of gain show you, per animal, what you are spending to keep it and what each extra kilogram is actually costing, so you can flag animals running ahead of their likely return. The whole-farm summary does the same at herd level, with cost per head and cost by category. On Pro, cost trends track your spending over time across categories and year on year, so a rising feed or medicine bill shows up early rather than at the year-end accounts.
